Dickies Dri-Tech Socks Review: I Keep Buying Them Even Though the Heels Wear Out

I keep buying Dickies Dri-Tech socks, which probably sounds like the beginning of a glowing durability review.
It is not quite that simple. They belong with the unscented deodorant I keep ordering in the unglamorous category of everyday things I repeatedly buy because they do the job.
I like the socks. They are comfortable enough that I have ordered the same basic black Dri-Tech crew socks again and again since 2019.
But I also know how most of mine eventually die.
The heel gets a hole.
My short version: I am generally happy with Dickies Dri-Tech crew socks and have eleven Amazon order records for them from 2019 through 2026. The weak point in my experience is heel wear. Apparently that flaw is not annoying enough to make me stop buying them.

What I like about them
I do not have an elaborate sock-testing protocol.
I put them on, wear them with normal shoes, wash them, and decide whether I want more of the same.
The fact that I keep ordering the Dickies answers most of that question.
Dickies currently markets its Dri-Tech work socks around moisture-control fibers, ventilation channels, cushioning and support. Those are manufacturer features. My simpler assessment is that I find the socks comfortable enough for regular wear and do not feel a need to keep trying different brands.
The heel is what usually sends a sock to retirement
Eventually, I start seeing a hole in the heel.
That is the part I would improve if somebody from Dickies asked me.
It does not mean the socks fall apart after a couple of washes. I have been wearing this line for years. It means that when a pair finally gets removed from rotation, the heel is usually the reason.
My sock-matching system is not very sophisticated
When one sock gets a hole, I throw that one away.
Then the surviving sock can eventually pair up with another survivor whose partner suffered the same fate.
Somewhere along the way, two widowed socks become a new couple.
This is probably not how Dickies envisioned customer retention, but it works.
Why I still consider them a good purchase
Durability is not an all-or-nothing idea to me.
Every sock will eventually wear out. My question is whether I got enough comfortable use before it happened that I feel fine buying the same thing again.
With these, I apparently do.
Would I buy Dickies Dri-Tech socks again?
Yes.
That is not a prediction. It is a behavior I have repeated eleven times in the Amazon history.
I would still like tougher heels.
