Weipro Internal Aquarium Filter: It Works Fine, but I Still Prefer HOB Filters
I generally prefer hang-on-back aquarium filters.
But sometimes the tank location or setup makes a HOB filter impractical. That is where my Weipro internal filter came in.
#ad
The filter in my order history is the Weipro internal aquarium filter.
My short version: it works fine. I am satisfied with its performance. If a hang-on-back filter is practical, I still prefer that style.
Why I used an internal filter
This was not a case of deciding that internal filters are better. I used one because a HOB filter was not practical where I had the tank.
That is an important distinction because aquarium equipment has to fit the actual tank and the space around it, not just win on somebody’s favorite-product list.
How it has worked for me
Fine. That may sound like faint praise, but it is accurate.
I have been satisfied with the performance and do not have a dramatic complaint to manufacture.
Why I still prefer hang-on-back filters
When I have the option, HOB filters are still my preference. I have written separately about why I ended up preferring AquaClear hang-on-back filters after years of aquarium use.
The Weipro fills a different role for me: it is the filter I was happy to use when the setup made my preferred style awkward.
Would I buy it again?
If I needed an internal filter for a similar setup, yes. If a HOB filter fit comfortably, I would probably choose that instead.
