VIVAGLORY Double-Handle Dog Leash Review: The Second Handle Is the Point
A second handle on a dog leash sounds like one of those features that could exist mainly so the product listing has another bullet point.
In this case, I actually use it. That close-control handle works naturally with the martingale collars I use, while our MidWest crates handle the at-home side of the routine.
The VIVAGLORY leash I bought has the normal handle at the end plus another padded handle much closer to the dog.
When I want the dog right beside me—in what I would call the heel position—I grab the lower handle.

My short version: I like these leashes. I bought the same turquoise VIVAGLORY traffic-handle leash twice in 2023, both have held up, and the second handle gives me a simple way to shorten control without wrapping the leash around my hand.

Why the traffic handle is useful
Most of the time, I can hold the leash normally and let the dog have the regular walking distance.
When I need the dog close—passing someone, moving through a tighter space, or simply wanting the dog walking beside me—I can move my hand to the lower handle.
That feels more controlled than gathering a bunch of leash into my hand.

The current product page describes two padded handles, a lower traffic handle, reflective material, and a swiveling clasp.
I am not going to claim every current color, clasp, or length is identical to my 2023 turquoise ASIN. The design principle is clearly still part of the line.
The handles are comfortable enough for me
Both handles are padded.
I have not had a problem with them digging into my hands during normal walks, and the lower handle is positioned where I can use it without feeling like I am reaching all the way down to the collar.
That is especially useful with a medium or larger dog where I want close control for a short period.
Mine have held up
I do not have a dramatic durability story here.
I bought two. I use them. They have held up. I have no complaint about the construction that has pushed me to replace them with something else.

Who I think a double-handle leash makes sense for
I would consider one if you often move between normal loose walking and moments when you want your dog directly beside you.
If your dog is tiny, the lower handle position and leash width need to make sense for your height and the dog’s size. VIVAGLORY currently sells different widths and lengths, so I would choose based on the actual dog rather than blindly buying the version I own.
Would I buy the VIVAGLORY leash again?
Yes.
The fact that I already bought it twice answers that pretty well.
It gives me a normal leash most of the time and a short-control handle exactly when I need one. I do not need it to be more complicated than that.
